Writing for Peace

in Updates on 21/12/18

The optional theme for this year’s Fresher Writing Prize is Peace.

The idea of peace can mean something different to everyone, and we are looking forward to seeing how you interpret it in your stories and poems.

We hope to inspire you to explore and share what exactly it is that peace means to you. We also encourage you to think about peace of mind; what that means to you, why it matters, and maybe what needs to change in order for more people to achieve it.

Reading and writing are both invaluable for encouraging us to slow down, find some peace and calm our over active minds. We hope that you can find time to enjoy both over the coming weeks.

More information about the Fresher Writing Prize 2019 is available on the Competitions page, but in the meantime, make sure to follow us on Twitter and Instagram to be the first to see any important updates!
