Fresher Publishing is a small publishing press, established at Bournemouth University to nurture the publishing talent of the future and support writers from across Dorset and beyond. The team is made up of staff, students and our wonderfully supportive executive board which includes publishing consultant Ed Peppitt, Picador Commissioning Editor Ansa Khan Khattak and literary agents Sophie Scard and Julia Silk.
We do not currently publish unsolicited works, however, our annual Bournemouth Writing Prize gives writers the chance to showcase their poetry or short stories in front of some of the best in the publishing industry, win some great prizes and maybe be published in our associated anthologies. For more details head to our Competitions page. And keep up to date by following us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
If you are a parent or teacher, you will also be interested in the Bournemouth Young Writers prize. This is open to children from all around the world, of eleven years and under, and is free to enter. Email us their entries and your children could win £150 worth of books – and maybe see their stories published too! The Dorset school to have most entries shortlisted will also win a special prize.
