RE: Fresher Guidelines

We DO NOT accept any work that has been previously published in a literary & arts journal, forum/archival site, or on an online blog. This does not include your personal blogs or social media, but we do ask you take the work down if submitted to us for consideration.

We accept simultaneous submissions, but please let us know as soon as possible if the piece is accepted elsewhere.

You can submit to different categories, but please send each category in separate emails with the type labeled in the subject line. (i.e. RE: Fresher submission: Poetry). In order to keep our process anonymous, please DO NOT put any identifying information in the attached submissions.

All written submissions should be attached in a .docx format (NOT .pdf) and in Times New Roman pt. 12 standard. Please double-check your document before submitting it (especially with poetry spacing). DO NOT include any identifying information the file name. Please label your file with the title of your piece.

When submitting, please include an author bio up to 75 words and in the third person in the body of the email.

Pieces submitted after the submission window or not following the prompt will not be considered. 

Work that encourages or promotes hate of any kind, including but not limited to racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc., will not be accepted.

There is a possibility we may print issues in the future. If this is the case, we will reach out directly to contributors regarding a print publication.

We are only welcoming BU/AUB student, alumni, and staff submissions at this time.

Categories

Poetry: up to three poems in a single document. Maximum 50 lines per poem.

Prose: up to three pieces in a single document (no more than 3000 words in the entire document).

Illustration/Photography: up to three high-quality JPEGs
